The IU Public Policy Institute is bringing its Thriving Communities, Thriving State project to five Indiana communities. Your opinion matters and we invite you to participate in discussions about our state's future.

Co-chaired by former Lt. Governor Kathy Davis and former Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randy Shepard, Thriving Communities, Thriving State is the second project of the Policy Choices Initiative. The goal of Policy Choices is to encourage discussions among government, nonprofit, and private sector leaders about issues that are or will be critical to Indiana’s future—to provide policy options for action.

The purpose of Thriving Communities, Thriving State is to frame the changing demographics and economic realities of Indiana within a place-based context to provide a clearer view forward for policymakers, while preserving those places and aspects that make us uniquely Indiana. Three study commissions evaluate issues affecting (1) urban, (2) mid-sized, or (3) small town/rural communities.
