MCTSP Recognizes the Center for Criminal Justice Research

May 16, 2008

In response to a request by the Marion County Traffic Safety Partnership (MCTSP), spatial analyses of alcohol‐related collisions in Marion County were conducted, using GIS technology, to identify locations with high concentrations of alcohol‐related collisions. 19 maps were produced—a density map of alcohol‐related collisions in Marion County, a map for each of nine clusters identified within the county and nine aerial photography maps of the clusters with collisions overlaid. The analysis is intended to provide a basis for the establishment of sobriety checkpoints.

In recognition of this work, the MCTSP awarded the Center for Criminal Justice Research a plaque to show their appreciation of their dedication and commitment to saving lives on Marion County roadways.
