With support and participation from several groups, including the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, the city of Indianapolis, the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the Central Indiana Community Foundation, and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, in 2012, PPI began a data-driven, facilitated process to help coordinate public, private, and philanthropic investments so that these investments have a strategic and holistic impact in Marion County. The process includes:

  • analysis of current and planned investments in infrastructure, economic development, and community development;
  • strategic targeting of tools available to local government to attract jobs and residents while meeting other city/civic goals;
  • recommendations for the strategic integration of future infrastructure, community development, and economic development investments;
  • spatial and substantive study of the systems and process that make use of public and philanthropic resources for physical redevelopment and revitalization; and
  • examination of the benefits and costs of a targeted reinvestment strategy and develops a data-driven framework for assessing the readiness and potential for success in other geographies.
