Serving the Homeless Could Save Taxpayer Dollars

Services: Analytical studies, Benchmarking/indicators, Data management

Can information about the behavior patterns of the homeless help the city better serve these individuals and save tax dollars at the same time? In spring 2006, a research team at the Indiana University Center for Health Policy set out to answer this question.

Researchers conducted a study to identify chronically homeless individuals who frequently use public services and to estimate the costs associated with their care.
