When the American Red Cross and Eli Lilly & Co. partnered for their Indy Do Day activity, 300 volunteers showed up. Troy Riggs, Director of Public Safety Outreach, gave opening remarks as the group prepared to install 500 smoke alarms in 307 homes affecting close to 900 individuals. All of the homes were located in the city’s six focus crime areas.
This smoke alarm installation was one of several Indy Do Day projects, which occurred October 1-3, 2015.
