Commission solicits questions for 2008 survey of elected officials

The Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (IACIR) will administer its ninth survey of local elected officials over the summer. The survey is designed to provide information to the IACIR and the Indiana General Assembly about the issues facing Indiana’s local governments.

The survey will be mailed in July to all members of the Indiana General Assembly, county council presidents, county board of commissioners presidents, mayors and school board presidents, as well as a sample of town councils and townships. The heart of the survey is a series of questions about community conditions in six categories: health, public safety, economics, land use, local services, and community quality of life. The survey also includes questions about “hot topics” affecting local governments currently.
