Services: Analytical studies, Economic impact analysis

Research Areas: Economic Development, Housing & Community Development

Marian University intends to create the first College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indiana. The application process requires a determination of the economic and fiscal benefits the formation and operation of the college will provide to Marion County, central Indiana, and the State of Indiana. Based on the experience of the Indiana University Center for Urban Policy and the Environment (Center) and a review of previous studies estimating the impact of colleges of osteopathic medicine in other states, the Center believes that there are both traditional economic impacts as well contributions to the long-term quality of life in Indiana.
